I started out with a single shot .410 when I was 6 years old. Killed a lot of clays and doves with that gun. Couldn’t wait to be “big enough” to shoot a 20 gauge. Now 59 years later (and lots of shotguns later) I have another.410, a little Holland and Holland Boxlock. I mainly shoot clays now, and it’s the last gun I’d part with.
