Yeah, Al, that's the one: my 8-pound quail-gun! Greener 'Empire' E-17 grade, with 2 inches lopped off the muzzles in a previous life. No choke whatsoever! Unfortunately I have been unable to drop Bismuth shot this year due to the house-move etc, so had to open with steel. My beloved Cashmore sidelock spent open-day in the safe! I really don't like steel shot much, had to run down two potential escapees, and twice I had to belt the same bird with the second barrel to bring it down. If I had to shoot steel pellets exclusively, I'd be looking for a good 3-inch 10-bore and buying '0' size shot, or even BBs! |
