Sorry I have only used brenneckes and slugs a bit and never on game.

Both are similar in patterning effect. An under and over sometimes is stocked for certain target practices, eg trap or down-the-line where the shotgun actually patterns higher than the point of aim when compared to a field shotgun where the pattern is line of sight.

Shotguns are not 'accurate', you do not aim them, you point them. Slugs may be different, but again accuracy is not an issue as to whether it is a SS or U/O.

No.


The choice between a side by side vs an under and over for shotguns is mostly a matter of personal preference. Myself I strongly prefer a side by side. Many bolt action rifle shooters prefer seeing the single barrel (on top) of an under and over.
