An under and over sometimes is stocked for certain target practices, eg trap or down-the-line where the shotgun actually patterns higher than the point of aim when compared to a field shotgun where the pattern is line of sight. In reply to: Shotguns are not 'accurate', you do not aim them, you point them. Slugs may be different, but again accuracy is not an issue as to whether it is a SS or U/O. In reply to: No. The choice between a side by side vs an under and over for shotguns is mostly a matter of personal preference. Myself I strongly prefer a side by side. Many bolt action rifle shooters prefer seeing the single barrel (on top) of an under and over. |
