I have a rusty Mossberg pump action shotgun, under a farm class C licence. My father stored it a safe in a shed, and let all his guns get terribly rusted ... again. Including the ones I cleaned up for him decades ago. I have his guns now. I am thinkng of cleaning back the rust, so the shotgun is functional again. Then "painting" it or something. The long 28 inch barrel has an awful "combi" choke, which you screw to tighten or loosen the choke. I think it shoots awful patterns. Never could hit anything with this gun. So after cleaning it up, and "painting" it, I am thinking of having the barrel cut back severely and also having a Briley choke installed in it. Haven't decided on a barrel length yet. Either short eg 18 inches or maybe 22/24 inches. Any comments. Will see about posting some photos of the rusty thing, but won't be for a week or two. |
