The same style break was on a .338 Lapua I shot at our range. I think it was the same gun the Brits use as a sniper rifle- $10,000.00 according to the owner.
That rifle recoiled less than my .243 Vanguard.
I think perhaps it's more weight as there isn't much muzzle-blast included recoil in the shotgun- although some and in a test like this, any reduction I suspect would help.
