I have used solids (winchester type) on pigs but don't really like them, Brenneke type are much better IMO, but cost a hell of a lot more! Unless your SxS has slug chokes then the winny type just get squashed coming out of the barrel and you lose a lot of accuracy. SG's are fine too but can be improved on, I used a small fishing sinker mould to make tri-ball buckshot (like the dixie ones) and they worked awesome up close in my mates SxS.
