My "answer" for the Survival question has been the same.
1st is I don't care what I have, I will find and take what is necessary. If there is some great world technology/infrastructure breakdown, It may happen suddenly and leave most totally unprepared....i.e.......away from your stash or firearms or loved ones. Hence I will just figure it out as it unfolds.

2nd answer has always been that if I am prepared and know of the situation where the I have bug out bags and firepower to get to my systematic stash thorough the country, in 30 locations. For that I will pick a AR or AK in .223 or 7.62x39 respective. Able to feed them where ever I am picking up magazines

Shelter, water and fuel will be of far bigger concerns that what firearm you have. Actually firearms never warrant more than passing interest in any of our course matter.
