Quite recently, I was advised (& quite sarcastically as well) that a 3 band Snider with Canadian markings, good stock shape, no cracks or bad dings, good original finish and a V-good to Excellent bore, is worth 'around' $600.00 - in Ontario, Canada- check (www. gunnutz. com). Here in the West, ie: BC, they'll bring more - to $1,000.00 if in good shape. Even a 3 band Enfield Parker Hale rifled musket will command close to a grand. The Snider in the pictures is in poor shape and the bore will be rotten. I just looked one over a week ago, at a local shop for a fellow. The bore was poor, but good elsewhere. I advised no more than $250.00 to $300.00 and he'd have to re-barrel it to shoot it. This rifle's action was good, as-was the stock. Prices & values vary around the country, let lone from one country to another. |
