My father found this in an old pole shed. Obviously, it's seen some moisture. Oddly enough, it still seems to function.

I **think** is is a pinfire?

So I'm wondering:

1. Anyone able to ID it? I can take better pictures of whatever, just need to know what to take them of.

2. What should be done with it? Leave it as is, hang it above the fireplace? Patina is good? Or soak it oil, and see how it cleans up? I have no intention of using it.
