If memory serves, this design is of Belgian origin - I think by Aug. Lebeau. I believe it was featured in an article in The American Rifleman years ago.


I just ran across the illustration I was thinking about in Gough Thomas's Gun Book - Shotgun Lore for the Sportsman, page 74. It is attributed to Lebeau-Courally.
