The 24 was Winchester's answer to the Stevens and Fox doubles that sold at very moderate prices. It turned out that the funny looking and somewhat clubby 24s were excellent shotguns that never seem to die. They are strong and well made.
I will see a dozen or so 24s this weekend at the Big Reno Show...a twice a year gunshow that covers about 2 1/2 acres of convention hall space at the Reno Hilton. A couple of years ago I could buy a good 24 in 12 ga for about $275.00 to $350.00 US. Now a decent one goes for $500.00++.
