I have used one in 12ga when it was first introduced to develope shot loads. The gun belonged to a friend that wanted to use it on small bird hunting with dogs. The gun balanced perfectly and its light weight is a plus with the gun at "ready" for long time periods. Since then, Benelli developed the Raffaello Crio 28, in 28ga. If I had to have one for this type of hunting I would choose the 28ga. I like Benellis but prefer their two piece receiver guns (Raffaello type) than the one piece receiver (Montefeltro type).
