Smoothbore re regulation

I seem to remember a post a long while back re a shotgun that had an unfortunate
fishing accident that was converted to a smooth bore slug specific number.

I am interested in how one goes about re regulating etc (I am an engineering duffer but I have a contact who is a gunsmith who might be persuaded into such a job, or even a sxs combination Hmmm )
I am aware that for the more savvy members this is old hat so please dont bust your boiler lads a link would be just great.Intended use scrub gun/fun gun/pig gun.

Also heard recently of Brennekes used on NT buff and scrub bulls??? Whilst I have every respect for the brenneke solid I dont know that it would be my choice.Only ever shot big stuff with rifles(excluding pigs).
I guess at V, close range 50-60 yd or less, but if things went askew, not just a charge, but if a going away follow up shot or so were needed it might be less than optimal, but I really don't know

Info/experience in this area?

PS NO I am not one of the divi kids(Pommy for Special Needs) who thinks 45-70 is a .470 just waiting to evolve nor do I subscribe to any of the other "quaint" notions postulated in some other venues re the hitherto un-discovered elephant stopping capability of the .410 shotgun etc etc.
Horses for courses,
Gun for game,
Hounds for grounds.
