My Gal's First Pheasant!
|
We went on a bird shoot Saturday. My better half had a good day - her first at shooting birds. SxS 20ga. did the job for her.
I think I had a bigger grin than she did!

Thanks guys for the good comments.
Arizona, this was on a hunting preserve. We have no wild pheasants in Virginia. I believe preserve hunts are allowed well into March.
It was a great day for the hunt. The temp was in the high 20's F, with calm wind. Mid-afternoon we had some snow flurries to add spice. The birds were quite strong and flew well.

That's a very happy picture!
I showed it to my wife because I want her to go hunting with me. She was ambivalent about the shooting sports and has started some informal target shooting now but is not yet ready to start hunting. She needs the inspiration that this lovely picture provides.
