Please update your profile to show your home-country at least. This simple courtesy will allow forum-members to better answer your queries on this and future threads.

It would help if all you other 'shy' members would do the same!

Can't help with the question though, sorry!
The value of any gun will depend on where you live!
By way of example, British boxlock extractor guns typically sell for 1/3 the US going-rate here in Australia.

Re: Another shotty

Point taken.
I have finnaly come across another shotgun I like so I'm just trying to find some info on it. The price is $550.
Had the other one stolin by the government. It was a nice win 1200 pump. All the bells and whistles. Strickly a compitition gun. Broke my heart losing that.
Thanks for the heads up.

enfieldmauser:
Provided the action is tight and hasn't been monkeyed-with, and the bores are shiny (probably chrome-lined anyhow), then $550 for any Beretta would be a good buy.
I'm not familiar with the 586 and couldn't find anything with a quick web-search. Anyone else...?

Re: Another shotty

Howdy again.
A bit of a correction on the model number for the Barretta.
It is a 56E. Hopefuly that may ring a bell with someone.

Re: Another shotty

enfieldmauser.

I own a Beretta 56E, bought it used 25 years ago for £200, which was a good price then. $550 sounds good to me. They are excellent, high grade field guns, very robust and reliable. I have put literally thousands of cartridges through mine and the only work i've had done is to replace the ejector springs. It has served me well in some truly awful weather and has had hard use but is still going strong. If you like the feel and it is mechanically sound, buy it.

Thank you Metswedi.
For some reason I do really like this shotgun.
It's good to know i'm not always a sucker for looks.
Thanks again

Re: Another shotty

No, I don't think there is much out there now that is as good as the 1200. But you never know.
Think positive.

Re: Another shotty

I dream of having my old pump gun back. The old semiauto centre fires were fun but theres nothing like letting lose with a pump.

Re: Another shotty

Guys, please!

The first 'right-and-left' on passing blackies with your new double should have erased all memories of those old rattle-guns....

Re: Another shotty

See if you can beat enfieldmauser to the Beretta!

Seriously Wharf, what is your intended use? Short-barrel for waterfowl means 26 inches, but for pigs'n'things with buckshot, short means 20 inches!

Re: Another shotty

Re: Another shotty

Hi Mate, If I remember right you were something else with a pump action. Faster than most with an auto, particularly with speed loaders. Do you still have the gun boot with the old bush gun.

Re: Another shotty

Howdy Razor. Yep still have the boot. If I can learn to ride something with less then four wheels, may be I will use it. If you would like to have it back, let me know.
Yes I really do miss my 1200 pumpgun. Nothing like doing IPSC combat with it.

Re: Another shotty

Yep Really nice. Love at first sight. And it is sweet to shoot. Have a look at www.viccityarms.com.au. There is a Beretta S56E there for $1195. It looks mint. Either way I'm glad I bought it.
