Small Gauge Hammer Gun

I picked up a J Manton & Co .410 hammer gun SXS today. Anyone know much about them? Is it safe to shoot with laminated steel barrels?

Matt; I have a J. Manton hammer gun in 20 gau. with damascus barrels. As far as shooting, hard to tell sight unseen, I'd have it checked out by someone knowledgeable. On the other hand if the barrels are pit free and you use low pressure shells - it's your call. Does your gun have Belgian proofs, if it has the name was pirated by who knows who. Perhaps someone will enlighten me. --- John S.
