WOW!

built in 1960 by gunsmith Harry Creighton on a double heat treat 1903 Springfield action and stocked by Hal Hartley. It features Douglas bbl., lyman alaskan scope with post and crosshair in a Griffin & Howe side mount and a Lyman 48 receiver peep sight with a Redfield sourdough front sight on a Williams ramp. It has a Buehler safety to clear the low scope mounting. The bolt handle has been altered to clear the low scope by using Harry Creighton's distinctive bolt handle. The magazine is one of the Type 1 experimental magazines developed by Springfield Armory intended to be used with the "trench rifle" and the M1910 air Service rifles, and holds 25 rounds of 30-06 ammunition. It is installed in place of the standard floorplate, follower and follower spring, and is attached to the trigger guard using the same latch. It should hold about 20 rounds of .458 winchester magnum cartridges, and the weight should soften the recoil considerably for the first few shots.
