I think that it isn't so much which cartridge, almost any .40 and up will work, but handiness of the rifle and shoot ability for many shots in a short period of time. That being said the rifle must point well, hold a minimum of 4 rounds and be easily reloaded. This eliminates Doubles. It must not have abnormal recoil. This eliminates .50 and above. It should be a Mauser type action for positive feeding and extraction. This eliminates Blazers. Add these up and you get a .416 Rem through 458 Lott. So choose the rifle that fits best of that group. |
