I've owned and often shot a Ruger 416 Rigby, a custom 458 Win,and currently own and shoot a Ruger 77 458 Win (old top tang safety)and a 416 Taylor built on a Kimber 8400 Montana. I don't believe there is a definitive answer to this question. So much of FELT recoil depends on rifle weight. stock design, bullet weight, etc. One 458 may seem to recoil more than a 416 and with other rifles- vice a versa.
