Just finished reading the J. Lott article from the 1981 Gun Digest. In the article, as you mention, there is a Westley Richards ad for the "Game Ranger" rifle. Mine looks VERY similar to the ad's picture. The ad states a 25" barrel....mine is 26". There are a few other, albeit very minor, differences between the ad and my rifle, but I would assume these are to be expected. Overall, I thought the article was complimentary to both the rifle(s) and the round. It does appear that the hand working of the follower had a lot to do with the feeding reliability (or lack thereof).
As a sidenote...the Game Ranger was also available in 404 Jeff and 375 H&H.
