I recently traded into a Sako Safari Grade in 375. It appears to have been factory ported, and I think it is a later production. I have seen several others in the past. What I believe are older production didn't have porting. One that I believe to be a later gun has the exact same porting as mine. I would appreciate any information regarding these guns. I like the way mine cuts a single hole, but am a bit concerned in the way it doesn't pick up the next round easliy when operating the bolt. My friend's has the same tendancy... The porting has taken just a bit of edge off the sharpness of the recoil and seems to keep the muzzle down a bit. I don't use compensators or porting on my rifles, but kind of like the way this one works. |
