Daryl and others, I am a big fan of the CCI 250, having used it for many years. I basically use it on anything bigger than .30-06. I'm using the FED 215 in my Nitro Express cartridges: .500 NE; .450 NE; .450/400 NE. My use of this primer began with these cartridges and dates to when I acquired my Merkel .500NE just several years ago. I haven't tried interchanging the CCI 250's for the Fed 215, or vice-versa. My use of the 215 has been compartmentalized as stated, with the 250 for everything else large. What do you know about the interchangeability of the 250 and the 215? Is any objective information about their relative performance, or do we just have anectdotal experience? I would like to find that there is no appreciable difference between these primers, so I could standardize on one (the CCI 250). Do you or anybody have a light you can shine on my ignorance? And by the way, H4350 is my "go-to" powder. Just love the stuff. It's even good on corn flakes! Thanks, Curl |
