I have one (416 Taylor) and I have made a bunch of them in years past. The Taylor is by far my favorite 416 of them all.
You can make a very nice rifle and use a standard length Mauser to do it. That means you get more gunsmithing and pay less for parts in any given budget, and the bullet is that same one as the Rigby or Remigton at the same speed (or at least very close to the same speed. Mine measured in at 2400 FPS with top loads)
Here's a few pics of mine, before checkering, when it was new.
It weighs 8 3/4 pounds and I can and have fired it 50 shots in a morning and not had it beat me up.
It kicks some, but not bad. Less than a 458, and it kills VERY well.
