Re: Difference Between 416 Taylor and 416 Remington?

I believe the remmy was just a remington 8mm necked up to accept the 416 head. I've got one, and I love shooting it. It's pretty much the limit of my comfortable recoil range. I've also got a 470 nitro, and I love shooting it, but I don't get as much 'pleasure' out of shooting it as the 416, particularly off the bench. The Taylor probably has a little less recoil than the remmy, just as the remmy has a little less recoil than the Rigby. The differences are so negligable that one may not notice, or the Taylor could have worse felt recoil than the remy due to different guns, stocks, etc. In general though, I understand that the Taylor has less felt recoil because it burns less powder. All that said, in my opinion, these recoil issues really can't be objectively quantified.
