One of the reasons why I asked this question was of recoil. According to the recoil calulator every 10 grains of powder adds 3 pounds of recoil, so if most modern powders use around 100 grains to get that velocity compared to 69 grains of powder, then that adds around 9 foot pounds of recoil. That would take the recoil from 55 pounds down to 46 pounds of recoil, which would be much more pleasant to shoot. |
