He'd probably shot thousands of elephants, some legal, some not, so may have had an idea on whose solids were best. : Today, I'd guess at the homogonous solids as being better yet, if possible, as John said he'd never seen a Rigby solid deform in any way. : On elephant, I suspect one only needs to penetrate straight and through the brain, so greater than this depth isn't nearly as important as straight-line penetration. Which nose shape and consruction gaurantees straight line penetraion becomes the 'best'. |
