Re: "Mini Compendium of Big Bore Cartridges" - Conclusion

My congrats as well. Incredible job, and written with style and panache. BTW, my personal vote for best 'bang for the buck' is the CZ Safari Classic in 505 Gibbs. Nicely done with jeweled bolt, dual cross bolt, recoil reducer and muzzle brake options, just a tad over $2,000 'street price' with very nice wood and fit for the price as well. I 'just had' to get one and shooting it is fun. As with any cartridge in this range, one wants to shoot standing up rather than from a rest, and keep a firm grip (but not a death grip) on the stock, and roll with the push. Far more 'nitro like' (a push, not a Weatherby Wack) than many of the other higher pressure loads described above and not at all the shoulder breaker as feared by some. Plus, loading those big rounds into the magazine is just plain fun. Dave
