ej: Most people simply cut and re-weld the original bottom-metal, and order a long front screw from Brownells (or make that yourself, too).

I have successfully straightened two myself without adult supervision, so it can't be that hard!

That said, the photo appears to show a release mechanism in the guard bow, so it's evidently a replacement.
