This subject has been around the block a bit. Depending on how much recoil you're accustomed to, a 416 may be the way to go. But, on the other hand, the Lott can utilize cheap 45/70 bullets and both calibers shoot cast bullets very nicely. Speaking of cheap shooting, I believe 416 Rigby cartridges will be manufactured by another company and will give Federal a run for it's money. Try less than half the price. Also, Norma brass for the Rigby is pricey. Lott brass is very cheap and Hornady makes them.
