I think this one really needed bolts, complete with heads and nuts.
I'd heard of Whitworth big bore rifles splitting stocks, it would only have been a matter of time with this one. The flush-fit ebony plugs are a nice touch too.

Had the rifle out again today on the 100 yard board getting the sights adjusted to hit a dead hold on the standing leaf.
Two quick shots are well inside MOA with the 75grAA2015br/350gr Hornady
That's around 2500-2550fps.
Before the bedding it was doing a tango dance between shots.

I'm happy with it so far.
Got to get my chrono, my rifle, and a sunny day together some time very soon.
