Good god - 3100fps - I am asumming he is using a 9.3x62 or 9.3x64 and not some super round but would you please explain how your friend gets a 286gn going at 3100fps. All my experiecne with these 2 calibres doesn't get anywhere near there.

286 grain bullet in 9.3. He was pushing them at around 3100 fps and the hole front half blew off.

No wonder.

I think he may have been pushing them a bit faster than
they needed or were design to go.

Unless they are like Barnes which don't have recommended impact velocities.
