Hi Guys,
Progress report. Well I picked up a bargain priced Ruger No1 donor rifle minus barrel & sights. I still love the idea of a 577 nitro but think that the 470 might be a better way to keep the costs down. I figure if I get a 470 barrel to the standard tropical contour I could use the a ruger quarter rib & front sight. Now this is where the questions start.

- If I go for the standard factory length & contour barrel is the rifle going to be too light for comfortable shooting in this calibre?
- Is a scope a bad idea on a 470? My eyesight is a little worse for wear so find accurate shooting with open sights difficult....maybe a peep sight would be the way to go if a scope is a no no!
