Could you elaborate on why the 400 H&H is what you are looking at?

Are you thinking cast bullets and the long neck and no change in headspace because of the belt?

If you just want a "big banger" (which the 400 H&H is not) then I would sell the rifle and buy a CZ in 416 Rigby. The 416 Rigby gives you the big cartridge......the 400 H&H only gives you a case about the size of your existing 300 Winchester.
