Well, it has been 3 months since my son had his fatal accident and I finally went shooting again. My oldest son, Sean and my youngest daughter,Dana went to shoot. It has taken me this long to get up enough gump to get out and do it. Nothing fancy, but we shot a 9mm, a 45 acp, a S&W 500mag. We also shot a 500 nitro ruger #1, and I shot my 585 3" nyati. Everything went pretty well, but I still really miss my son. The 500, and 585 both seemed to kick a hell of alot more than I remember when I shot them last time. I was using some prtyy hot loads in both. The 500 was sending 570 grain bullets at 2365 ft/sec. and the 585 was shooting 750 grain bullets at 2500 ft./sec. , for me, those are pretty stout loads. The 700 grain ballistic supply 500 mag. bullets in the hand gun were pretty good thumpers to. Maybe this is what I needed to try to get back on track a littlle bit. Just thought I would let you all know that we are surviving. thanks. Ken |
