I don't crimp any of my reloads including 500Jeffrey, 505 Gibbs but if you don't crimp, try to make sure your sizing die is on the small size so it keeps a good amount of neck tension. Also, if out in the field walking and shooting, keep a check on the tip of the last 2 bullets in the magazine to make sure they are not getting battered under recoil AND that the bullet isn't being pushed in. Or use Woodleigh Protected Point bullets which stop tip deformation under recoil. Finally, you can use 235gn bullet for light game and 300 for heavier game and you may / should be able to get them to shoot to the same point of impact. Good shooting 500 Nitro |
