I shoot a very light 375 (under 8lbs w/scope & fully loaded), no problems. My 470 gets my attention. But the Browning/Winchester 1886 45/70 with 405 gr @ 1900+ fps that I used for American Bison (buffalo) has a curved steel butt plate.....hurt everytime I pulled the trigger. In fact, the buffalo reqired 2 shots and I remember them both! 5+ years since then, it hasn't been shot! I need to change the stock or settle for reduced loads. |
