Okay, I'll confess. My Marlin 1895 .45-70 flyweight, shooting max loads of 400+ grain bullets, beats my .375s, my .416s, my .458 and my .500 all to hell in the recoil department. It's just too light weight, with too much drop at heel. And with no recoil pad, it just damned well HURTS! My other, much more powerful, rifles are pussycats in comparison. |
