The 375 Weatherby is a great cartridge in its own right, and well-worth building a rifle around. If you can find a copy of Warren Page's classic book, "One Man's Wilderness", Page's old and much-used 375 Weatherby was prominently used in many of the stories. What's great about the 375 Wby. is that it bridges the gap very nicely between 375 H&H and 378 Wby., with recoil being MUCH less than the 378, plus you can have it built on any action that can be used for a 375 H&H; you don't need a 416 Rigby-size action, as is the case with the 378 Wby. Not only that, but if your ammo becomes separated from you in Africa, you can safely fired garden variety 375 H&H ammo in your rifle to get by very nicely. You can't do that with the 378...... AD |
