I like the 375 Wby but do not see a clear need for it.The H&H covers the bases well. The question arises whether it is worth the extra 100fps it provides.I doubt if the animals shot could tell the difference. There is less than an inch diifference in the trajectory of a 300 gr bullet from an H&H vs a 375 WBY at 300yds.
If I am going to step up from the 375 H&H, ballistically I would look at the 378 Wby round for a 300fps increase and a flattened trajectory. That would allow easier shots on large non dangerous game at a distance.Obviously no DG should be shot from a distance and risk wounded lost DG. At shorter hunting distances any difference over the 375 H&H dwindles. The 378's major drawback would be the viscious recoil.THAT is the 378's rep I recall.
