I have similar vision problems with open sights and have switched over to a large peep instead of an express site.
If your rifle position/cheekweld remains simlar this is very accurate and you effectively only see the front sight with practice.I believe this was discussed in a previous thread.

I don't use recoil reducers, just don't like the feel of the gun with them.
