I have no experience with the other recoil reducer you mentioned, but know from experience that the mercury ones work. I personally do not like them, as the stock of your rifle sounds like a Milky Bar! On the rear sights being blurry, it is impossible to focus on both sights, as well as the target. I found it works quite well when focussing on the front bead only, after acquiering the target. The target is then still slightly in focus, but the rear sight not. If it really troubles you, go for a ghostring back sight.
