bulldog, i believe you might have read my article (link to it for those of you interested in it ( http://www.huntingsafaris.net/pdf/reloadingtherigby450rimless.pdf www.huntingsafaris.net ) mrlexma, i do not agree that the Lott holds 2-3 more cartridges than the Rigby, maybe that much more than the Weatherby 460. Remember, the Rigby has no belt. If loaded to around 2400 with a 500gr bullet, the pressure is very low. As stated in my article, IMO the Rigby 450 does its best work with heavier bullets. I load mine with 500gr GS Custom FN bullets (still need to convince Gerard to make heavier bullets for me someday!), and 550gr Rhino solid shank expanding bullets @ 2450 and 2300 ft/sec respectively. So, if you are into heavier bullets (like I am), the Rigby (or Dakota) .450 is a very good choice.
