Thanks for the info. The spelling of Scholefield on the rifle is correct and there are post-1904 Birmingham proofs on the barrel. I think this was an agency or store that sold guns made by other folks under their own name like Sears and Montgomery Ward use to do in the USA. I did find out that there were two companies that made alot of firearms that were sold under other trade names - W.W. Greener and Westley Richards. I don't see any stampings from these companies on this rifle although I haven't checked under the butt-stock or forearm yet.
