Re: Help with Sight choice?

My eyesight isn't great and I use a larger peep and a large dot on the front sight.I am considering the large tritium front sight as well.

This system works great for snap shots out to 50-75 yards depending on the size of what your shooting . You must practice snap mounting the rifle with the cheek bond the same every time again and again. Otherwise your reference points for the front sight/dot picture is not reproducible(different front sight/bead picture related to target) and accuracy suffers.Past that you usually need a smaller front dot and smaller peep.

I have described it poorly but peep sights work well for me on heavy rifles. I don't like the traditional V because it obscures the large lower portion of the target at distance.
I will certainly admit you can lead a close moving target far better with a v sight than a peep but with practice it can be done with a peep as well. With practice it evolves into kind of a "front sight only" system and all you see is the front sight bead on the target
