The Ruger is absolutely the best rifle for the money available today if you want a 416 Rigby. Many of them shoot extremely well and feed properly right out of the box. One of my friends needed to have the feeding system worked on a bit and he had the trigger pull cleaned up a bit, but that was about it. If I bought one of those rifles myself, I'm replace that thin, brick-hard, black recoil pad that Ruger supplies with a 1" Red Pachmayr Decelerator pad, and I'd add Talley detachable rings, a Leupold 1.5-5x VX-III scope, and I'd replace the front sight bead with a bigger white 3/32" bead. You can get those front beads from New England Custom Guns, and you can get them in various heights to compensate for point-of-impact, since the rear sight is not adjustable for elevation. www.newenglandcustomgun.com AD |
