TJ- thanks for the kind words. : The Speer .235, with nose filed off makes a great 'hard' bullet for the .375Win. It will expand some, but will also give really good penetration, although I cannot fault the little 220gr. HornadyFP's performance on thsoe moose. Unfortunately, 2 moose isn't a great test bed, but I am convinced that other hunters will have duplicate peformance, IF their accuracy prevails. : I was really amazed at the accuracy of the m94, as I have a new-condition .32SPL from 1951 that barely makes 6" at 100yards. It's 16" twist just doesn't like those 170's. Maybe I'll try some 125gr. cast bullets and Black Powder - HA! : The .375Win. will hold bewteen 1-1/2 and 2" if I do my part, and that is pretty darn good performance with a short barrel and the modified factory rear sight. That ivory bead is really nice in the bush, so it's no wonder it was preferred in Africa. |
