The bar on the left hand side indicates a cavalry carbine, also the thumb-lock on the breech-block is MkII or MkIII. the MkIs were converted from the Enfield muzzle-loader and nick-named 'suicide-breech' because of the lack of locking device, as in the one pictured above. Sniders are never marked as such on the actual firearm. They just are! ![]() You have an interesting historical rifle there, dcmbsn, though they can be a challenge to load for.
