Did you mention that load in the intial post? If so, slap me! Naturally that load would kick less than a .375, especially mine that loves a 300 grain Nosler PT at 2750. And yes, that's the chronographed load and no, there are no pressure signs. And also no, I can't explain it either. Back on track, now, the .338 loads that I dislike tend to be 225 grains and considerably higher velocities. We don't see too many 300 grain .338's around here. Interesting idea. Sort of like a modern .333 Jeffrey, and that was one killer cartridge. |
