Here is a link to the company. The floorplate opens, but it has a frame, (Winchester calls it a picture frame). The trigger guard up to the hinged portion of the floorplate is all one piece. This eliminates the two sperate pieces, the trigger guard and hinge with floorplate attached on current mod. 70's
