mlg, I think these Hornadys will be worth keeping an eye on. Reports from the field will tell the tale, though. Still, I found Phil's comments to be interesting. But, for you guys in Australia, I think I'd keep using the Woodleighs. I would imagine that you can buy them at a better price than we can here in the States. BTW: I'm a big fan of Woodleigh bullets. I've used them twice now on plains game hunts in South Africa and have been very satisfied. I used the 220 gr Woodleigh RN in my .30-06 back in 2002. I used the 220 gr Woodleigh RN in my 8x57JS and the 286 gr Woodleigh RN in my 9.3x62 just this past August (2005). All worked great. On both trips, my PH was very pleased when he learned I would be using Woodleighs. They seem to have a very good reputation in South Africa. Cheers, -Bob F. |
